Youth Free Lunch Program
The
free Lunch program is a federally-funded child nutrition program sponsored
locally the City of Sacramento Department of Parks and Recreation. Any
child ages 1-18 can show up at a summer food site (there are more than
125 sites in Sacramento County) and eat a free lunch. This program is
intended to provide the nutritious lunch that so many kids depend on during
the summer months, when school is out of session. Sites are located in
kid-friendly places such as parks, recreation centers and apartment complexes.
