About Park Services

Park Services maintains more than 210 developed parks and open spaces totaling more than 2,000 acres. This includes neighborhood, community, and regional parks with playgrounds, play equipment, picnic areas, sports fields, basketball courts, boat launch ramps, restrooms, community centers and other special facilities. Many miles of parkways, waterways and off-street bikeways are also maintained by this section. Additionally, Parks Services provides grounds maintenance for several city facilities and pedestrian areas including City Hall, the Crocker Art Museum and the K Street Mall.

Volunteers are needed for park beautification projects

Help keep our parks beautiful with renovation projects suitable for volunteer groups of all sizes, or join our Partner in Parks program and Adopt-a-Park!
