Aquatics: Swimming Pools and Swim Lessons

 

Mission Statement:

The Aquatics Section is dedicated to providing safe, fun educational water-related experiences for all people.

Summer 2008 Aquatics Programs (17-page pdf) New Window - includes dates and fees listed by pool for swim team, swim lessons, water aerobics, lap swim, recreational swim, junior lifeguard.

Admission Fees for recreational swim have changed effective June 16th:

Children & Youth 17 & under...$1.00

Adults 18 & up....$2.00

Please note that Hiram Johnson High School and Grant High School Pools are closed for the Summer 2008. Swim lessons are still being held at Hiram Johnson.

Pools and aquatics programs ARE NOT CLOSED or cancelled due to poor air quality. Families should use discretion when choosing outdoor activities.

SUMMER PROGRAMS

The Aquatics Section offers a variety of programs for you and your family.

Swim Lessons

Swim lessons begin at your local pool the week of June 23. We offer a wide variety of levels, including parent & tots, bubble-blowers, adult and Access Aquatics lessons.

Swim Team

Mark your calendars! Our Recreational Swim League begins June 16. League Championships will be held Aug. 9 & 10.  Dual meets are Saturdays, June 28-July 26.  Freestyle/backstroke trials are Aug 2. (dates are subject to change).

Junior Lifeguard Academy
Teens 12-14 can learn useful skills as a junior lifeguard. Classes begin mid July.
