Pool Accessibility for Persons with Disabilities

Pannell Meadowview Recreational Pool is fully accessible and is open March through late October.

The following City of Sacramento pools are equipped with lifts: Clunie, Doyle, Hiram Johnson High School, McClatchy Park, and Oki.

Adaptive Swim Lessons
The Aquatics Section offers adaptive swim lessons for children, teens, and adults on a limited availability basis. Adaptive lessons can be tailored to meet the special needs of individuals with either physical or developmental challenges. Qualified instructors will focus on each individual's strengths and tailor the sessions to enhance his/her ability level. An individual with a disability (as defined by the ADA) is a person who has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one of more major life activities. If a participant cannot be mainstreamed into a regular group lesson, then either a semi-private or private lesson (fees for 2005 to be determined)—whichever is most appropriate—will be arranged on an availability basis. Call (916) 808-2308 for more information.
