Coloma Community Center, 4623 T Street

Located in UCD Medical Center area, this center is nestled in a heavily-shaded and secluded Elmhurst residential area between Highway 50 and Stockton Boulevard. Sacramento Regional Transit routes include bus 15 and Light Rail, with stops at the 48th St. station and is within walking distance.

Coloma Community Center is a beautiful two-story, tile-roofed brick building that was converted from the old Coloma Elementary School into a visual and performing art center.The building houses Department of Parks and Recreation staff, and leases space to Access Sacramento. The building has five meeting rooms, one dance room, and a full performance auditorium with stage for various activities.

There is also a shuffleboard room as well as a ceramic studio. One converted room houses the ongoing Tiny Tot recreation program. Most rooms have hardwood floors, heating and air conditioning are in all rooms and in the east hallway. Parking lot and on-street parking available. See also Coloma Park.

Auditorium: Large enough for wedding receptions, graduation dinners, social dances, talent and fashion shows, and large seminars or workshops.

  • Distinguishing features: full built-in stage, projection room, built-in PA system. Accoustical panels on back wall and rafters. A dedicated Internet modem jack. Grand piano, hardwood floors, and chandeliers round out the ambiance.

Gold Run Room: Designed for meetings or gatherings. The rooms directly connects with the center’s kitchen.

  • Square Footage: 625
  • Distinguishing features: Southern sun exposure, kitchen connection.

Rescue Room: Dance and Ballet room only. This room features a mirrored wall and ballet bars. Contains storage nook and faucet.

  • Square Footage: 900
  • Distinguishing features: Full wall mirror, ballet bar.

Nevada City Room: Ideal for small meetings and workshops.

  • Square Footage: 750
  • Distinguishing features: Chalkboard and Internet modem jack.

Jamestown Room: Ideal for small meetings and workshops.

  • Square Footage: 750
  • Distinguishing features: Chalkboard, upright piano, and walk-in storage closet.

Sonora Room: Ideal for small meetings and workshops. Great location for painting or other visual art classes.

  • Square Footage: 750.
  • Distinguishing features: Chalkboard, sink w/faucet.

Grass Valley Room: Ideal for small meetings and workshops.

  • Square Footage: 750
  • Distinguishing features: Chalkboard, large back wall ideal for use as projection screen, shelving, sink w/faucet.

Rough and Ready/Ceramic Room: Not available for rental. Offers tile floor, kiln and work space for ongoing ceramic projects.

Kitchen: Small, non-commercial rated kitchen, designed only for simple preparation of food or drinks. Small microwave, two 100-cup coffee pots, two 35-cup coffee pots. Connects directly with Gold Run Room.

Amenities: Available upon request (items may require a rental fee or small deposit.) Podium and mic, 100-cup coffee pots, 35-cup coffee pots, easels, portable whiteboard, portable chalkboard, TV/VCR, overhead projector, projector screen, extension cords.
