Joe Mims Jr. Hagginwood Community Center at Hagginwood Park is located south of Grant High School, and is accessible from both I-80 freeway or Marconi Ave. off Bus. 80.

 


Attention--New Hours:

Effective July 25, 2011, Joe Mims Jr. Hagginwood Community Center public hours are as follows:

Tuesday: 10am-8pm
Wednesday: 10am-2pm (open for rentals only after 2pm)
Thursday: 10am- 8pm
Closed: Mondays, Saturdays, Sundays (open for rentals only)*

NOTE: The Kids Kamp and Teen programs WILL CONTINUE Monday-Friday until July 29, 2011

For rental information, room tours, and coordination for your event, please see our community center staff during public hours listed above. Call 808-6439 for more information and to make an appointment with site staff.

IMPORTANT NOTE—ALL financial transactions (program fees, donations to the center and rental payments) will be handled at South Natomas Community Center, (2901 Truxel Road, 95833, office hours Mon- Thur. 8:30am-5:30pm). ANY AND ALL payments must be done at South Natomas Community Center effective July 25, 2011.

About the Center Expansion

The new building added approximately 5,900 square feet, including a lobby, two-story meeting room, Sun Gallery, Reception, Office and Work Room, Women's and Men's Rest Rooms, Activity room, Outdoor Patio facing east and twenty-foot-wide Courtyard separating new and existing buildings.

Work at the existing building included removal of library addition; installing new fire alarm system as a separate zone; painting interior as modified and exterior of building; modifying structural system; removing auditorium ceiling and reconstructing mechanical /electrical systems, and making rest rooms and building exits accessible.
