Samuel Pannell Meadowview Community Center

 The
Pannell Meadowview Community Center is located on the
southeast corner of 24th Street and Meadowview Road. It is easily accessible
from either Interstate 5 (Pocket Road/Freeport exit) or Highway 99 (exit
Mack Road west, which turns into Meadowview Road). The center opened to
the public in June 1995. The facility sits amid lots of grassy area, and
includes two outdoor basketball courts and a swimming
pool facility which opened in April 2001. With its high ceilings and
numerous windows, the center is spacious and well-lighted. A spectacular
ceramic tile mural (artwork created by local school children), is the
centerpiece of the front lobby and is a "must-see" piece of
artwork. Parking is plentiful and well-lighted, with over 200 spaces and
accessible to both the front and rear of the building.
There are two rooms available for rental:
a multipurpose room and a meeting room. Room choice will depend upon the
size and scope of your event. A large kitchen with plenty of counter space,
is also available when renting the multipurpose room.
Reservation Information
Multipurpose Room: Recommended for
large events, such as receptions, dinners, large meetings, and performances.
- Square Footage: 6700.
- Distinguishing Features: Specialized multipurpose floor (may puncture
with sharp objects), adjoining kitchen, built-in stage, and access
from rear parking lot.
Meeting Room: Recommended for small
meetings and classes.
- Square Footage: 725
- Distinguishing Features: Lots of natural light from wall of windows
facing Meadowview Rd. Carpeted.
Conference Room: Smallest rental
room at center.
Kitchen
($25 flat rate): Kitchen adjoins the multipurpose room and is available
to rent with the multipurpose room. Commercial stainless steel appliances,
counter tops and serving island. Excellent for catered events. (Food must
be brought in already cooked). Kitchen use fee includes usage of refrigerator/freezer,
warming oven, and ice machine.
Amenities: Sound system with
one mic, TV/VCR, overhead projector, projection screen, easel, and coffee
pots. All items require a deposit for use.
