Oak Park Community Center, 3425 Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. (916) 808-6151

Oak Park Community CenterOak Park Community Center recently reopened after an extensive renovation. The center is located near Broadway and Stockton Boulevard, and is accessible from Highway 99 at the 12th Avenue exit. Check also Sacramento Regional Transit bus routes. Built 17 years ago to serve the Oak Park community and surrounding areas, the community center has rooms available for rental for conferences, meetings, weddings, banquets, performances and more. Colorful murals decorate the building. The Oak Park amphitheater sits behind the center. Adjacent to the community center is a playground, basketball courts (courts closed during construction) and ample off-street parking.

Construction of the new Multipurpose Facility

In November 2004, the City received a $3 million grant which is funding a gymnasium/multipurpose room adjacent to Oak Park Community Center. Construction is now underway for the 10,530 square foot Multipurpose Facility.  Demolition of the site is underway with work on the underground utilities and grading for the 2 new basketball courts.  By summer, the construction will go vertical as the slab foundation is poured and framing begins on the structure.  Project completion is projected for spring 2009.
