About Urban Forest ServicesStaff provides care and maintenance support to more than 150,000 city street and park trees that comprise our urban forest. They plant the right tree in the right spot; trim and prune as needed to maintain health and resident safety; and remove unhealthy, dangerous or fallen trees. Staff is trained to control insects and disease, and inspect and protect heritage trees. Urban Forest Services staff also operates the City plant nursery, growing new trees.
