Infill Program

Infill development includes development, redevelopment and re-use of existing sites and buildings in the City's existing neighborhoods and commercial corridors. Due to size, location, site conditions, and development economics and requirements, infill development faces many challenges.

Objectives and Strategy

  • To develop plans, ordinances, and systems that anticipate and support quality infill development.
  • To create and maintain a predictable and supportive development review process for infill development.

Who Are We?

The Infill Program is overseen by the New Growth Manager, coordinated through an interdepartmental Infill Cabinet made up of high-level representatives of Departments and Divisions involved in the development process.

Infill Program Responsibilities

The Infill Program's primary responsibilities include:

  • Administration of the City's adopted infill policies and programs
  • Identifying and recommending additional programs/activities to promote quality infill development projects

The City is actively working on and continues to develop a number of plans and programs to better anticipate and encourage infill development within the City's older neighborhoods, commercial corridors, and transit station areas.
