Broadway Task Force

Summary

The Broadway Corridor Planning Task Force Recommendations report (Recommendations Report) was completed in 1998 for the Broadway commercial corridor and adjacent properties bounded by the Sacramento River on the west and Alhambra Boulevard on the east.

A City Council-appointed task force composed of residents, business owners and property owners prepared the document that included a series of planning, land use, economic development and design review recommendations. The Recommendations Report sets a vision for the Broadway Corridor as a vibrant, active business district with a strong and diverse retail base; a destination area that strengthens Broadway as an entertainment and employment center along with a residential component; and a concentration of retail, residential and office uses that contribute to increased activities compatible with nearby neighborhoods.
