PRICE AGREEMENTSIn general, a Price Agreement is a contractual arrangement in which a purchaser contracts with a vendor to provide the purchaser’s specified requirements, at a predetermined price, for a given period of time. Usually involves a minimum number of units, with orders placed directly with the vendor by the purchaser, and with a limited contract duration. Price Agreements as used by the City of Sacramento - From time-to-time the City negotiates and enters into a Price Agreement with a specific vendor to provide a defined product(s) or service(s), of a stipulated or non-stipulated quantity, at a guaranteed price, for a given period of time, for use by all City Agencies (unless an Agency is specifically identified and excluded). In essence, a Price Agreement says that “Joe Vendor” will provide “X product(s) or service(s)” to the City of Sacramento, at a guaranteed same-price for a given period of time. This means that the City does not have to constantly re-bid for the purchase or procurement of the same product or service, over and over again during the year, but can simply go to the vendor and purchase theses products or services at the same, guaranteed price throughout the year.
