 Welcome to the city of Sacramento, Department of Transportation's web site. Our mission is to provide quality engineering, planning, construction, parking and street services to ensure the City's transportation infrastructure is safe and reliable for the efficient movement of people, services and goods.
The Department of Transportation has more than 430 employees. We provide basic transportation services that improve the quality of life for the people of Sacramento including on and off-street parking and enforcement, traffic engineering, street maintenance, engineering design, construction and inspection, the sustaining of an urban forest and planning for future transportation needs.
One of our main goals is to be more accessible to our customers. This web page is one way to assist you in getting the information you need more quickly and efficiently. While technology is a powerful tool, it is not however, a substitute for human interaction. We believe that relationships are our strongest competitive advantage. Therefore, we are continuously building and maintaining strong, positive, interactive relationships with each other, across our department and with our customers.
