 Welcome to the City of Sacramento, Department of Transportation web site. Our mission is to ensure the City's transportation system supports and enriches the quality of life for present and future generations.
The Department of Transportation has more than 400 employees. We provide basic transportation services that improve the quality of life for the people of Sacramento including on and off-street parking and enforcement, traffic engineering, street maintenance, engineering design, construction and inspection, the sustaining of an urban forest and planning for future transportation needs.
One of our main goals is to be more accessible to our customers. This web page is one way to assist you in getting the information you need more quickly and efficiently. While technology is a powerful tool, it is not however, a substitute for human interaction. We believe that relationships are our strongest competitive advantage. Therefore, we are continuously building and maintaining strong, positive, interactive relationships with each other, across our department, City Hall, and with our customers.
