Bikeway and Pedestrian Program

The City of Sacramento is committed to improving its roadway network to provide access for all modes of transportation.

Bikeway Program

The 2010 Sacramento City/County Bikeway Master Plan (BMP) was adopted by the City Council in 1995. Updates to the master plan were adopted in 2001 and 2004. By clicking on the links below, you can view or download the Bikeway Master Plan document or associated maps with either existing or existing and proposed bikeways.

Pedestrian Program

On July 25, 2006, City Council approved a Pedestrian Master Plan. On February 12, 2008, staff will recommend to City Council that a new Pedestrian Improvements Section be added to the 2008 Transportation Programming Guide in accordance with recommendations in the Pedestrian Master Plan. By clicking on the links below, you can view or download the Pedestrian Master Plan document and other documents and presentations regarding Pedestrian safety improvements.
