Bicycle Locker & Enclosure Rentals

Bicycle Locker & Enclosure Rentals

The City of Sacramento offers low-cost rentals of bicycle lockers and bicycle enclosures. Each bicycle locker allows storage for one (1) bicycle and any bicycle gear.  Bicycle enclosures consist of an enclosed area containing bicycle racks which are only accessible using a security card.

For commuters who utilize both bicycle and bus transportation, bicycle lockers and enclosures allow a convenient store-and-ride option, in which commuters have a place to store bicycles in a location between bus stops, thus eliminating the hassle of traveling with your bike.

Rental Agreement Conditions

The City of Sacramento provides this low-cost service for the sole intention of providing bicycle riders an enclosed space to store bicycles and bicycle-related gear.  In addition, for liability and safety reasons, riders who join this program must agree to only store bicycle-related items in the locker or enclosure.  These lockers and enclosure are not intended to be used as personal storage for any other items.

Lockers require either the use of a padlock, which the customer supplies, or a City-issued key, which requires an additional $25 deposit.  Downtown Plaza East also offers an enclosed bicycle rack area which is only accessible with an access card. There is an additional one-time administration fee associated with the access card.

Bicycle enclosure customers are allowed one (1) access card per bicycle. Access cards are not transferable. Reported violations will result in denial of access to the enclosure area.

All bicycle lockers and bicycle enclosures are the property of the City of Sacramento. Any legitimate reports of storage in violation of the intended use or violation of agreement terms will result in denial of access to the bicycle locker and/or bicycle enclosure.

How to Sign Up

Please call (916) 808-5110 to check for availability. If a bicycle locker or enclosure is available, please complete a Bicycle Locker Agreement and submit it in-person.

During the initial visit, all payments and paperwork will be processed and the key will be issued immediately. The locker will then be available for use.

Bicycle lockers utilizing a personal padlock
For security reasons, all bicycle lockers utilizing personal padlocks are initially locked with a City padlock.  Upon signing up for the program and after all fees and paperwork are processed, the Customer Service Representative will supply the contact information of the facility supervisor where the bicycle locker is located.  It is the customer’s responsibility to contact the facility supervisor to arrange a time and date to meet to switch out the City padlock with the customer’s personal padlock.

Account Cancellation

All cancellations must be made in writing or by completing a Monthly Parking Change Order Form. Cancellations must be received by the Parking Administration Officer prior to the 1st of the month in order to avoid incurring any additional rental charges.
