65th Street – Station Area Study

65th Street – University Transit Village Plan / Swanston Station Transit Village Plan / Northeast Line Light Rail Stations Plan / South 65th Street Area Plan / Light Rail Station Ordinance and General Plan Amendment / 65th Street Station Area Study / Sacramento River Crossings Alternatives Study / Sacramento Streetcar Planning Study

Overview

The 65th Street Station Area Plan site is located in the eastern part of the city.  It is bounded by the Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) right-of-way and Folsom Boulevard to the north, Power Inn Road to the east, 14th Avenue to the south, and 59th Street to the west.  The 65th Street Station Area Study was initiated to analyze three scenarios for enhancing the circulation system in the project area (Scenarios A, B, and C).  Scenario A is based on implementation of previously approved plans and implementation of the mitigation measures adopted as part of the two plans in the immediate vicinity – the 65th Street/University Transit Village Plan and the South 65th Street Area Plan and other planning efforts in the general vicinity.  Scenario B; and Scenario C were crafted to provide new and distinct vehicle, bicycle, pedestrian, and transit components.

Implementation of the 65th Street Station Area Plan will occur as amendments to the existing community plans and specific plans that encompass the project area.  Full project buildout (for any Scenario) is expected to occur by 2035.
