The are over 50 public and private agency's sections
that perform construction and maintenance activities
within the City of Sacramento 's right of way. Some
of the work performed is routine and scheduled in
advanced. Much of the work is emergency repair and
cannot be scheduled.
Street Services meets weekly with representatives
of many of those who perform or approve the work
expected to be done in the coming week in an effort
to minimize the impact of known construction activities.
As a result of this meeting some construction is
delayed or required to take place at night or on
weekends. Construction activity is also scheduled
around various special events through the year. Special
public notification is also required when appropriate.
