The City Treasurer manages
three (3) distinct businesses for the City Council and the residents
of the City. Additionally, the Treasurer provides specialty consultant
services to the City Council and staff of the City in areas affecting
Financing, Economic Development and Special Projects.
The 3 distinct businesses in the Treasurer's Office are the Investment
Business Unit with $1.077 billion in Investments, the
Financing Business Unit with oversight and management responsibility
for the $1.98 billion in outstanding indebtedness, and the Banking and
Operations Business Unit responsible for over $11.7 billion of Banking
transactions, reporting, and accountability as well as Banking Services
needs of the City.
The City Treasurer is a Charter Office appointed by the City Council.
We have nineteen (19) full- time professional employees involved in
the daily operations of the office. The Treasurer's budget is $1.5M,
and due to management fees collected there is a zero net cost to the
City for services provided by the Treasurer's Office.
