"The Investment and Operations business unit of the City Treasurer’s Office is responsible for the investment of funds, cash flow management of the City’s cash account, the affirmation and accountability of all investment transactions related to the investment portfolios managed and the production of reports of those portfolios.  The investment portfolios consist of 40 portfolios, which included the City’s Pool A, Sacramento Employees’ Retirement System (SCERS), Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA) and four endowment funds.

The Investment and Operations unit is directly responsible for managing in-house over a billion dollars in investments.  The business unit interfaces with banks and brokerage houses and City’s custodian on a daily basis.  Additionally, the unit utilizes live interactive links to the financial industry.  This unit utilizes systems such as Bloomberg and Axys to stay adept with the financial market and to produce the reports that enable the City of Sacramento to stay within State Investment reporting guidelines."
