For most City of Sacramento residents
and businesses, the Solid Waste Division
provides service by zone. Use the
table above to determine the collection
schedule for all residential services.
Follow these steps
- Check the map to identify the
correct residential/business zone.
- Check the table below by service
to find the collection schedule.
- Call Customer Service at 808-4800
if there are questions.
The City collects 80,000 tons of
garden refuse and sweeps al City
streets and public right away. Please follow these guidelines for
Garden Refuse Collection:
- Place garden refuse material
at curb by 6:00 AM.
- Place garden refuse material
at least six feet from cars, utility
poles, mailboxes, boats, trash
an recycling containers, and other
obstructions.
- Please do not place more than
two cubic yards of material on
the street for collection each
week (the pile must be smaller
than 3'x3'x6')
- Make sure gardener's know the
collection schedule and follow
it.
- Prune trees and shrubs so that
they do not block City equipment
form collecting garden refuse.
- Refrain from pruning during leaf
season.
- City crews may be off schedule
during leaf season (October through
December). Call 808-4828 for a
schedule update.
Please follow these guidelines for
Street Sweeping Service:
- Do not park vehicles, boats,
or trailers on the street on the
scheduled street sweeping day.
- Do not leave basketball hoops
on the street on the scheduled
street sweeping day.
- Do not place garden refuse on
the street on the scheduled street
sweeping day.
- Do no leave trash or recycling
containers on the street on the
scheduled street sweeping day.
- Prune trees and shrubs so that
they do not block City equipment
from providing street sweeping
service.
- Prune trees and shrubs back from
fire hydrants.
