Curbside Recycling


Accepted Materials

Acceptable materials for the curbside recycling program include:

  • Glass :

    All colors of glass bottles and jars can be recycled with labels and lids on. Rinse if necessary.

  • Paper Products - Newspaper/Mixed Paper :

    Mixed paper includes all household paper except food-contaminated paper.

  • Plastics

    All plastics can be recycled. If necessary, rinse first then crush plastic containers to make more room in the container and in the recycling truck.
  • Cans

    Empty aluminum, steel, and tin cans can be recycled. If necessary, rinse first then crush the cans to make more room in the container and in the recycling truck.

Do not recycle:

Do not place the following items in your blue recycling container:

  • Household batteries
  • Fluorescent lamps and tubes
  • Styrofoam
  • Window glass
  • Mirrors
  • Porcelain
  • Ceramics
  • Pyrex
  • Drinking glasses
  • Tarps
  • Needles
  • Household Hazardous Waste
  • Wet Food Waste
  • Garden Refuse
  • Clothing
  • Diapers
  • Kitty Litter

These items are contaminants that increase the cost of the recycling program to the City and its residents.
