Drainage Services

To remove urban runoff from City streets, the Department of Utilities maintains 45,000 storm drain inlets, hundreds of miles of drainage pipeline, 65 miles of canals and ditches, over 100 pump stations, and numerous detention basins. Through this series of canals, pipes and pump stations, water is directed away from homes and into creeks, lakes and rivers.
