City of Sacramento Department of Utilities encourages everyone to Give Smart for the Holidays. Nearly twenty-percent of the City’s annual solid waste tonnage, approximately 20,000 tons, is generated in November and December. That is a tremendous amount of waste from packaging materials, gift wrap, ribbons and even the gifts themselves.
