The Department of Utilities is responsible for providing and maintaining water, sewer, collection, storm drainage and flood control services for residents and businesses in the City of Sacramento. In addition, the Department of Utilities promotes water quality protection and water conservation through various city-wide programs and operates a 24-hour City Operator helpline.
