Garbage
Department of Utilities Solid Waste Services provides weekly residential garbage collection service to more than 124,000 households. The waste placed in green garbage containers goes to a landfill. Disposing waste in a landfill costs more than recycling or composting waste. Residents can help control their costs and help the City keep rates low by reducing waste, recycling as much as possible and using an appropriate size container.
