Once a meter is installed, customers receive one year of comparative billing data on their Utility Service Bill, demonstrating how their current flat rate compares to what they would have paid on a metered rate. The name of the Customer receiving the bill
This is the Account Number assigned to the Service Address. If you have questions about your Utility Service Bill, please have your Account Number ready when you call
The Billing Date is the date your bill was generated
The Consumption History displays your water use in both cubic feet and gallons over the course of a year, helping you compare water use to previous billing periods and seasons. Note that there are 7.48 gallons of water in one cubic foot
Service from indicates the dates of this meter’s previous and most recent readings
Water - Residential Tracking Only indicates that the water meter information provided is for comparison only. During the one-year comparison period, customers are responsible for paying the flat rate only
Base service charge covers the cost of providing service, including water system maintenance and meter reading
The usage charge based upon the amount of water consumed
Comparison Purposes Only indicates that the water meter information provided is for comparison only. During the one-year comparison period, customers are responsible for paying the flat rate only
The Meter Number is a unique number assigned to your water meter by the meter manufacturer
The Current Meter Read is the actual reading from your water meter that was recorded by the meter reader and used to calculate the water usage charge
The Previous Meter Read is the actual reading form your water meter that was recorded by the meter reader on the Read Date for your prior Utility Service Bill
The Reading Difference indicates the amount of water consumed during the reading period (in cubic feet), calculated by subtracting the Previous Meter Read from the Current Meter Read
The Meter Multi. indicates the size of your meter and the multiplier used to calculate the amount of water used
Usage displays the units of water consumed in both cubic feet and gallons. There are 7.48 gallons of water in one cubic foot

The Account Summary section describes previous balances, payments, credits, adjustments and current charges on your account since your last statement
Total Due includes all current and past due charges or credits
Per voter approved ordinance, each year 11% of total utility revenues are transferred to the City’s General Fund to support citywide services
The Legal Owner is the primary person designated to receive all bills for the account. This is the person who is ultimately responsible for payment
The Service Address is the address that received the utility service
Parcel Type describes if your water service is for single family, multifamily or commercial use
The APN indicates the Tax Assessor’s Parcel Number
The City Council District number
Utility Services outline the services included in this statement
Service from indicates the time period covered by this statement. Note that service periods may not correspond with calendar months
Water – flat charge indicates the current flat rate for water charged according to the number of rooms in a building
Wastewater – flat charge indicates the City’s flat rate for wastewater pumping and system maintenance
Storm Drainage – flat charge indicates the flat rate for storm drainage service and system maintenance
Describes Solid Waste services and charges determined according to the type, size and number of Garbage, Recycling and Lawn & Garden containers
Street Sweeping charges, determined according to parcel type
The flat charge, determined according to parcel type, for Wastewater Treatment by the Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District
The Payment Coupon is the portion of your Utility Service Bill that you detach and return along with your payment
Balance Forward lists any unpaid charges or credits from the previous billing cycle
The date Current Charges are due to the City of Sacramento
Payments received after this date are considered late and will incur a 20% penalty fee on Current Charges
