VITA - Volunteer Tax Assitance Program

VITA and TCE Tax Program Schedule, February-April 2008

Those with incomes of $40,000 or less for 2007 qualify for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA).  VITA volunteers will help prepare federal and state taxes.  This program is a collaboration of the City of Sacramento and the IRS.  It is possible to also qualify for additional credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit, Child Care Credit and more, which could increase the refund amount.  Assisted Self-Preparation is available at two sites this year for those with incomes up to $50,000.  Electronic filing is available at all sites and there is no charge for this service.
