Newly introduced bike parking at the Sacramento Valley Station brings peace of mind to commuters

Secure bike parking facility to open this week

Join the City of Sacramento at the launch of the Sacramento Valley Station Bike Hub, a new secure bike parking facility available 24 hours a day for those traveling through the station. This new and secure facility supports commuters with better access to the Sacramento Valley Station making it easier for people to get out of their cars and use public transportation.

Who:  Vice Mayor Jeff Harris, City of Sacramento Officials, Bike Hub representatives, and Community Members

Where: Sacramento Valley Station, north plaza, located at 401 I Street.

When: Wednesday, January 31 at 9:30 a.m.

Details: The event will include a brief speaker series and a demonstration on how to use the new facility. The Sacramento Valley Station Bike Hub can accommodate parking for 60 bicycles under a controlled entry system and closed-circuit surveillance. Commuters will enter the Bike Hub kiosk using their Driver’s license or valid ID. Seven-day passes start at $5. An instructional video can be found here.

Last year, the City celebrated the grand reopening of the Sacramento Valley Station. The 68,000 square-foot building underwent significant improvements. The new, old station improves the experience for rail and transit users and restores treasured features of the building.
