March 5, 2024 - primary municipal election
The nomination period for the March 5, 2024 election began November 13, 2023 and closes on December 8, 2023 at 4:30 PM.
In the event that an incumbent candidate does not submit a nomination petition, the nomination period for that office will extend to Wednesday December 13, 2023 at 4:30 PM. Persons interested in running for office are strongly urged to file the nomination petition by December 1; and not wait for the possibility of an extended nomination period.
- The nomination period will be extended for Mayor.
- The nomination period will be extended for Council District 2.
- There will not be an extended nomination period for Council District 4.
- There will not be an extended nomination period for Council District 6.
- There will not be an extended nomination period for Council District 8.
The City Clerk shall not, according to California Election Code, issue or accept nomination petitions before or after the nomination period.
The nomination period for the Office of Mayor, and District 2 will be extended to 4:30 PM on Wednesday December 13, 2023, as the current incumbent member did not submit nomination papers. |
