We are happy to announce that the Public Counter is expanding in-person services! The Community Development Department is offering expanded in-person services, by appointment only, beginning September 11, 2023. Starting that week, in-person appointments will be available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Visit our Schedule an Appointment page to learn more and schedule. All building and planning applications will continue to be submitted online through the Citizen Portal.

On March 22, we launched our Electronic Over-the-Counter Plan Review Service. This Sacramento Streamline program replaces the highly popular version of the service that was performed at our public counter in the past. For qualifying projects, plans can be reviewed the business day after they are received. The e-Planning Submittal facilitates submission of Planning Entitlements and projects requesting Planning clearance to submit to building permit applications for Electronic Plan Check (EPC). e-Planning integrates into the existing EPC service the Building Division has been operating for over five years.
