In-person appointments for planning questions and minor building permit needs are offered at the Public Counter. Appointments are available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with two appointments available for each half-hour time slot. The Building Division’s Alternate Means and Materials Request process was utilized to build the country’s first residential structure with six stories of light wood-frame construction.  Read the complete article for details.

On March 22, 2017, the Building Division of the City of Sacramento was presented with the California Building Officials’ (CALBO) Building Department of the Year Award. The award recognizes an outstanding jurisdiction for its demonstrated leadership over the preceding year.
