Disabled Access

The approval of plans and issuance of a building permit does not signify compliance with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. See form CDD-0332

Additionally, under federal and state law, compliance with disability access laws is a serious and significant responsibility that applies to all California building owners and tenants with buildings open to the public. For additional information about legal obligations and how to comply with disability access please read the Notice to Applicants for Business Licenses and Commercial Building Permits.

MULTIFAMILY DWELLINGS

Dwelling Units within a single structure, configured with three or more dwelling units, or four or more condominium units, shall comply with applicable provisions of CBC Chapter 11A (applies to both Group R-2 and Group R-3 dwellings). See form CDD-0409.

PUBLIC HOUSING

Any housing units proposed for construction that meet the the definition of "Public Housing" in the California Building Code (CBC) Chapter 2, are required to comply with all applicable requirements in CBC Chapter 11B.
