The City of Sacramento continues to offer essential services. Check below for the status of individual City services that may be affected in response to COVID-19.

Public Safety

OPENPolice, fire and emergency medical services are not affected.

 

City Public Counters

CLOSEDAll City public counters are closed.

MODIFIEDServices are available online or by individual appointment.

 

Trash and Recycling Pick Up

OPENPick up is on a normal schedule.

MODIFIEDThe City is currently waiving delinquent trash and recycling payments.

 

Parking

MODIFIEDThe City is currently enforcing safety violations and ensuring that spaces designated for City Services, including recycling and solid waste pickup, are kept clear.

MODIFIEDParking is free at meters after 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and all day on the weekend within the Central City and Old Sacramento.

 

Water (Utilities)

OPENWater services are not affected.

MODIFIEDThe City is currently waiving delinquent utility payments.

 

Building and Planning

OPENMost building and planning services, including inspections are available online.

CLOSEDThe building and planning public counter is closed.

 

Public Meetings

MODIFIEDCity Council meetings are physically closed but residents can use eComment to participate in virtual meetings.

CLOSEDMost advisory board and commissions are likely canceled through April. 

 

Parks and Public Spaces

MODIFIEDCity parks remain open though residents are discouraged from using all play equipment.
