Logistics

The Logistics Division provides agency-wide oversight in functional areas of station supplies and inventory management, emergency medical supplies, along with issuing and managing a care and maintenance program for firefighter personal protective equipment.

Firefighter gearThe dedicated staff of both civilian and sworn personnel provides supervision and direct action to keep the operations of the department running. Some of the activities performed by personnel include: inventory, tracking, and distribution of firehouse supplies; maintenance and repair of power equipment including ventilation fans, chainsaws, and extrication equipment; regular repairs, testing, and calibration to self contained breathing apparatus; and testing and repairs to ground ladders.

Other responsibilities within the division include the testing and evaluation of equipment as well as researching and designing equipment specifications prior to purchase. The division strives to create organizational efficiencies though the procurement process and be as effective as possible with the equipment and services it provides.
