Leaves of Absence

The City provides non-industrial leave for eligible employees as required by state and federal law and consistent with Rules and Regulations of the Civil Service Board and labor agreements.

Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)/California Family Rights Act (CFRA)

FMLA/CFRA is federal and state laws which provide eligible employees up to 12 work weeks of unpaid, job and benefit protected leave in a designated 12-month period. In order to be eligible for FMLA/CFRA, employees must have worked a minimum of 12-months, worked at least 1,250 hours during the previous 12-month period preceding the leave, and have a qualifying event.

Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL)

Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL) is state law that provides up to four months or 17 1/3 weeks of unpaid, job and benefit protected leave to employees who are incapacitated due to pregnancy or childbirth.

Employee assistance Program

The City of Sacramento offers counseling services through Concern to assist employees and family members who may be experiencing emotional and family problems, financial hardships, legal matters, or substance abuse issues.

988 SUICIDE & CRISIS LIFELINE

The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is a national network of local crisis centers that provides free confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the United States.
