Access Leisure Monthly Calendar - Virtual activities

COVID-19

With the current and evolving COVID-19 situation, various Access Leisure Social Programs and events (that require participants to physically meet) are meeting on Zoom. There are many amazing virtual programs to choose from as well as weekly in-person walking groups and outdoor special events.

Day camps, day trips, and additional in-person programs may be made available soon. We hope to resume regular programming as soon as possible. Thank you for your participation and support during this time.

GET FIT WALKING GROUP

Free!
This awesome group will focus on physical exercise, stretching, enjoying nature, socializing, and having fun! See you there… in person, masked, and ready for adventure! Registration for these sessions will only be accepted online through the City’s ActiveNet website. All participants must register online and accept the Liability Release and the Covid Waiver. Participants who arrive without pre-registering will not be able to participate. If you are unable to register online, please email Heather at hkopf@cityofsacramento.org as soon as possible for alternate registration information. Please refer to the Get Fit Walking Group calendar for specific meeting and registration details.

Note: there is a max attendance limit of 10 participants for this program (10 participants per session). Spaces will be filled on a first come, first served basis.

PARENT AND CARE PROVIDER CHAMPION GROUP

We will take the month of June off. In place of the Champion Group in June, parents, guardians, family members, and care providers are invited to join participants for their Summer Dessert & Social Hour on Zoom on Thursday, June 17th. Please email hkopf@cityofsacramento.org for additional details. These sessions are free for parents, guardians, family members, and care providers.

Purpose of the Champion Group: While we all navigate these challenging times; Access Leisure staff would like to provide time for parents, family members and care providers of Access Leisure participants to come together to discuss topics as needed. These sessions are meant to be an open discussion and a time to discuss any challenges you are having as well as a time for us to assist you in finding the resources you and your family may need to continue to be healthy at home.

JUNE ACTIVITIES WITH $30 PARTICIPATION FEE

June monthly Zoom fee = $30 per participant
(this fee will give you access to ALL of the Zoom activities on the calendar). The Paint & Sip event as well as the Book Club require separate registration and log-in information.
Fees will not be reduced if you sign up after June has started. However, you are welcome to join us any time during the month once you have registered. If $30 for the full month is challenging for you financially, please reach out to us. We will work with you to find a solution.

MONTHLY WELCOME & FUN

This is a great time to get to know your peers for monthly programs. There will be some fun “get to know you” time. Staff will also review expectations for Zoom sessions for the month. These expectations will include basic Zoom etiquette, running through settings, and more. See June Activities message above regarding online registration.

MUSIC HOUR

This hour will be all about variety! Join us for a bunch of music-oriented games including Name that Tune, Freeze Dance, Lip Syncing, and more! See June Activities message above regarding online regisration.

YOGA

Monday, June 7th & 21st
4:00pm – 4:45pm
This basic yoga session is great for all experience levels. You may participate while seated or standing. Mats are awesome too, but not required. See June Activities message above regarding online registration.

ART & WELLNESS

We will focus on a topic of self-care and learn together.

June 30th topic: Meditative Exercise
Supplies: You will need paper and something to draw with (if you choose to follow along with the drawing of the day). If you have colored pencils, markers, crayons, or pastels at home – that would be fantastic. That way you can add in some fun colors. See June Activities message above regarding online registration.

FITNESS FRIDAYS

Each session will be unique based on the strengths of the attendees. Exercises can be completed while seated or standing… or both! See June Activities message above regarding online registration.

CINEMA AT HOME

Feel free to bring along some tasty snacks… or dinner! Please plan to be “muted” for most of this activity. This month’s theme is… MARVEL. Get ready for some action! The movie selection will be determined the day of the event. See June Activities message above regarding online registration.

JEOPARDY

MORNING MEDITATION

Join us for a quiet and calm morning of meditation and mindfulness. Please note that staff will not allow late arrivals from the waiting room after 10:05am in an effort to keep this Zoom session as focused as possible. No prior experience needed. DRUM FITNESS

Get ready to work those arms and focus on cardio endurance.
Recommended supplies:
1. Drumsticks (or drumstick substitutes – e.g. wooden spoons… or your hands will work great too).
2. Something to use as a drum. Suggestions: a yoga exercise ball, a pillow, an actual drum… or your knees will work great too). See June Activities message above regarding online registration.

Hello Families and Friends,

As we continue to navigate these difficult and ever-changing times, we have made the following decision to postpone all League Bowling programs at this time. We know that this is a very tough and emotional time for all of us, and your health and well-being is foremost on our minds as we all navigate down this unprecedented path together.

All Bowling programs are cancelled at this time, WE HOPE TO RESUME LEAGUE PLAY NEXT YEAR.
