Youth and Teens
Access Leisure’s goal is to provide safe, fun and inclusive community programs, social programs and inclusion support for youth and teens with disabilities. A variety of youth and teen programming occurs year round from Teen Program, Inclusive Playdates, Camps, Summer programming, community outings and so much more! Below is information on current programming, upcoming programs/events and how to register for those activities.

Current Programming
The Hangout Teen Program

The Hangout Flyer (PDF)
The Hangout is BACK programming three days of the week (HOORAY)! Every Monday will be at
Belle Cooledge Community Center and every Tues/Thurs will be at Shepard Garden Arts Center,
excluding holidays and off days which families will be reminded about. Teens are more than
welcome to attend all three or whichever days fit their schedule!
- What:
Teen Program! This is an after school program developed for teens with
disabilities (ages 13 - 22). The Hangout is a free program where teens create connections
with peers and community, learn personal and life skills/goals, practice positive
interactions, create and have fun! A range of activities are to be experienced such as
games, art, body movement, positive mental health habits, movie nights etc.
- Cost: FREE!
- When: Every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm, starting January 23rd 2023 and ending May 25th 2023
- Who: Teens with disabilities, ages 13 - 22

Upcoming Programming
Inclusive Playdates

- What: Come and play at our Inclusive Playdates! Access Leisure invites youth ages 3-12
with all abilities and their family for positive play at the Southside Park accessible
playground. We have additional activities that include crafts, games, inclusive music
therapy and local organizations to offer activities & information. We invite community
resources to share their information and facilitate activities during the playdate. Access
Leisure playdates create an environment where all are welcome and youth can be with
peers who are similar and different. Connections and friends are made during these
playdates with the overall goal of families linking together with others and to make their
own playdates.

- When: One Saturday a month starting Match until October, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Art-tism

Art-tism is an art series program during the summer for youth with Autism taught by Valene
Bryd and supported by Access Leisure. Valene leads youth on the spectrum through art
activities and encourages them to be as creative and free with the project as they want to be.
Art-tism is a space and opportunity for those to come as they are and express themselves how
they want to through sensory art activities.
