After a long stretch of mostly staying at home during the pandemic, are you ready to get away for some fun? How about spending a week at Camp Sacramento enjoying the beauty of the majestic Sierras!

The City of Sacramento’s 50+ Wellness Program hosts affordable, mini-vacations at Camp Sacramento in the Eldorado National Forest. This is an opportunity to enjoy the scenery, go on nature walks, participate in art workshops, take a group hiking adventure, or head out on adventures of your own, using camp as your home base.

“Arts and Adventure in the Sierras”, a summer camp designed especially for older people, offers a wide variety of opportunities during your 5-day, 4-night stay, including meals, traditional camp activities and social events. Lodging is in rustic, but comfortable cabins at this charming, historic camp operated by the City of Sacramento since 1920.

Some campers want to fit in as many activities as possible each day. Some come for the simple pleasure of enjoying naps on the patio, reading and visiting in a relaxed setting, playing games or working on independent projects. The point is, you can do as much or as little as you like!
Just 18 miles west of Lake Tahoe, at an elevation of 6,500 feet, Camp Sacramento's tall pines, clear blue sky, and meandering river provide a scenic setting that offers a wonderful way to relax in the mountains. Covid safety precautions will be in place. Cabins fill quickly.
