Gerald Landberg


MEET Lieutenant Gerald Landberg

Office of Operations – North Command 

Lieutenant Gerald Landberg began his law enforcement career in 1999 with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD Class 306). As a deputy sheriff, he worked assignments in custody, court services, and patrol. In 2007 Gerald lateraled to the Sacramento Police Department.

As an officer, Gerald worked patrol and was a member of the Parole Intervention Team (PIT), and the Gang Enforcement Team (GET). In 2014 Gerald was promoted to Sergeant.

As a sergeant, he supervised several patrol teams, the South Command’s Neighborhood Crimes Unit, the Felony Assaults Unit, the Homicide Unit, and worked in Internal Affairs. In 2022 Gerald was promoted to Lieutenant and is currently a Day Shift Watch Commander.

Gerald earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Administration of Justice from Cosumnes River College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Emergency Service Management from Union Institute & University. His professional development classes include the Sacramento Police Department Front Line Leadership Course, Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute (Class 421), and POST Supervisor School.

Gerald has been awarded the Sacramento Police Department Life Saving Award, a Unit Citation for his work on the Gang Enforcement Team and has been recognized as the Employee of the Quarter twice.

When Gerald’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, and completing home improvement projects.
