MEET Lieutenant Jason Morgado

Office of Investigations – Research, Development & Training 

Lieutenant Jason Morgado began his career with the Sacramento Police Department in 1996. He is currently assigned to the Metro Division as Special Operations Lieutenant. He has also worked as a Patrol Watch Commander and Executive Lieutenant, and with Investigative Services.

Jason has a Bachelor of Science degree from Sacramento State University. He completed the Senior Management Institute for Police’s Executive Development Course.

Jason grew up in an area that had a resident deputy. He went on his first ride-along his junior year of high school and knew then that this was the profession he wanted to be in. After graduating from Sacramento State University, he wanted to stay in the area and liked what SPD had to offer in the way of working different units.

Jason’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, hiking, camping… anything outdoors!
