MEET Captain Wendy Brown
Office of Investigations - Personnel Services Division
Captain Wendy Brown began her career as a police officer in 1994. As an officer, she worked Patrol, as a Field Training Officer, Problem Oriented Police Officer, Street Gang Detective, and in Internal Affairs.
As a sergeant, Wendy worked as a patrol supervisor and as the Detective Sergeant overseeing the Criminal Intelligence Unit. Wendy was promoted to lieutenant where she served as a late shift watch commander, executive lieutenant and as a metro lieutenant overseeing the PRCS investigative team, Real Time Crime Center, Alcohol Beverage Control, Crime Analysis, and the SWAT Team.
As a captain, Wendy has led all operational activities that effect the central city as the captain of Central Command, and she currently oversees the Personnel Services and Backgrounds Division.
Wendy earned a bachelor’s degree from Sacramento State University and is a graduate of POST Command College. She has credit toward her master’s degree in Law Enforcement and Public Safety Leadership.
In her free time, Wendy enjoys ocean fishing, CrossFit and spending time with her daughter, horse, and dog.
