Summary

On Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at approximately 1:45 p.m. a Sacramento Police Officer driving a marked patrol wagon assisted Parole Agents, from the State of California, Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, with transporting a subject to the Sacramento County Main Jail. During the transport, the officer became concerned, parked the patrol wagon in the jail entry way and went to check on the subject. The officer opened the door and discovered the subject was unresponsive. He requested emergency medical assistance.

The officer evaluated the subject’s condition and vital signs. After retrieving first-aid equipment, the officer and parole agent began administering cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). CPR remained in progress until the Fire Department arrived and took over medical care. The subject was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased by a physician.
