Project Description

Currently, 14th Avenue from Power Inn Road ends east of 82nd Street. The project will extend and widen 14th Avenue from Power Inn Road to Florin Perkins Road. The new road will include two travel lanes (one in each direction), bike lanes, a striped median, drainage improvements, curb, gutter and sidewalk improvements, streetlights, new striping, signs and markings, a new signal at Florin Perkins Road and a modification of the signal at Power Inn Road.

Benefits

This project will provide an east-west connection on 14th Avenue between Power Inn Road and Florin Perkins Road and will relieve traffic congestion in the area by providing connectivity for vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians through two neighborhoods and open up the area to future development.

Costs and Funding

The estimated total project cost is $9.2 million. Funding is provided by local transportation, redevelopment and federal funds.

Schedule

The project is currently in preliminary engineering and reviewing potential funding strategies.
