PARKING NEWS AND UPDATES
POST-PANDEMIC UPDATES
Governor Gavin Newsom declared February 28, 2023, as the end of California's COVID-19 State of Emergency. The customer service counter at the Revenue Services Division is now open during specific hours and days. As office hours are subject to change during this transition to post-pandemic operations, please view the Revenue Division website for updated counter hours and wait times prior to your visit.
Metered parking on the street returned to standard operating hours on October 20, 2021. Please check the meter or pay kiosk to view enforcement hours and rates when parking. For questions regarding citations that were deferred for payment, please email or call the Revenue Services Division.
PHONE, ONLINE, AND IN-PERSON SERVICES NOW AVAILABLE:
Residential Permits: Requests for new and renewal permits will continue to be available online. In-person service is now available at the Revenue Division (view office hours). Please submit required documentation via mail, fax, in-person, or via the Online Request Portal. Any physical permits requested by mail or online will be issued to resident via US Mail. Vehicle permits (bumper sticker) were replaced with virtual permits on January 1, 2021. Virtual Vehicle permits now use the vehicle's license plate number as the "permit number". Visitor and Temporary permits will continue to be issued as physical placards. Replacement permits for lost or damaged physical permits is $25.
DEPP & PTEP: Renewals may be done in-person at the Revenue Division or via the online form. A valid state-issued identification and pay stub are required to sign-up. Renewals in-person also require the DEPP or PTEP card being renewed. Interns and volunteers need a signed and dated verification letter from employer. New participants may sign-up in-person or email a completed application as an attachment along with a valid state-issued identification and pay stub. Renewal periods are every March and September.
Commuter Specials: Discounted daily SacPass permits are available online for commuters. Daily pricing is subject to change at any time. Permits may be purchased up to seven days in advance and will be available until all passes for that date are sold out. Permits are issued in the form of a QR code that may be printed out or downloaded to a mobile phone.
Parking Enforcement: All parking enforcement operations have resumed to standard operations. Complaint calls will be serviced in the order they are received. Sacramento City 311 is available to receive service requests via mobile app, online, or by phone at (916) 264-5011.
Customer Service Counters: Please view office hours for the public service counter at the New City Hall Revenue Division before your visit as hours are subject to change. The public service counter at the Sacramento Marina will remain closed to the public until further notice. However, Marina staff may be reached by phone Monday - Friday.
