Permit Renewal Schedule

HOW LONG ARE PERMITS VALID FOR?

Vehicle and Visitor parking permit(s) are valid for 2 years. Expiration depends on the permit cycle for the area, not when the permit was acquired by resident. Temporary Permits, including 24-hour permits, are valid only for the dates reflected on the permit. Please view the renewal schedule, below, for the valid dates of your permit area.

HOW DO I KNOW WHEN MY PERMIT EXPIRES?

Expiration dates are reflected on the face of the permit.

Please look at your permit to see the expiration date or refer to the chart, below, to view when your permit area expires. Renewing permits requires the same process as applying for a new permit. DMV Registration and Proof of Residency documents are not kept on file with Parking Services, therefore an updated copy of both are required if applying for a Vehicle Permit. Visitor permits require a Proof of Residency no more than 45 days old.

It is the responsibility of the permit holder to renew permits prior to the expiration date.

Renewing permit(s)

By U.S. Mail

If renewing by mail, please submit an application and required documentation in a reasonable amount of time to allow for the permit to be mailed back.

Mailed permit requests may be submitted prior to the permit expiration month, however your renewal permits will not be issued or mailed until after the first day of that expiration month, regardless of how far in advance the renewal request was received by Parking Services. Requests are processed in the order received.

Online

Please complete the online form and upload required documentation to the online portal.

*Effective May 1, 2022, any permit area undergoing renewal must use the new online permit portal. The new portal will only be available to  a permit area during its scheduled renewal period. New residents may apply for permits using this portal during their area's renewal period. Otherwise, the online form must be used to apply. Please view the chart below to know when the new permit portal will be available for that area.
