Slip Rental Process

The Sacramento Marina is a recreational facility. Living aboard your boat is prohibited in the Sacramento Marina. Air BnB’s, VRBO, subletting your slip, commercial activity such as chartering or any related type of business of renting out your boat are all prohibited in the Sacramento Marina.

  1. Submit online or by email to sacmarina@cityofsacramento.org:
    • Complete Slip Application
    • Your photo ID
    • Provide CA Boater Card if you are 50 years of age or younger Apply Now – California Boater Card
    • Provide current proof of registration for the boat (if you just purchased the boat, please provide the bill of sale with title front and back side completed and signed)
    • Provide current proof of insurance (Need either the certificate OR declarations page) with additional insured endorsement worded as: “City of Sacramento, its officials, employees and volunteers 2710 Ramp Way Sacramento, CA 95819”
  2. Once the application and required documents are received and approved, and if there are slips available, you will be emailed the Slip License Agreement to sign and fees must be paid in full the day of signing. A slip is not assigned or guaranteed until all documents are received, the agreement is signed, and fees are paid.
  3. After all documents are received, agreement signed and fees are paid, a slip will be assigned to you and you may bring your vessel into the marina.
  4. Marina staff will measure your vessel after it is docked in your slip. If your vessel exceeds the allowed 10% overhang of your slip, you will be mailed a letter informing you of the length and to discuss further options. Please be advised that your slip rent may increase due to your length overall and you may need to move into a larger slip.

Please Note - A Thirty Day Written Notice is required to vacate the slip and fees due for final 30 days. There are no slip transfers with the sale of the boat. If you sell your boat, you are still required to provide the Marina with a written thirty day notice and the new owner may have to move the boat to another available slip or get on a waiting list. Please always check availability with the office first.
