
FINAL PLAN APPROVED
The Freeport Blvd. Transportation Plan was presented to City Council on February 21, 2023 for final approval. This document sets the vision for future transportation investments on the corridor.
After 2-years of work, this Plan incorporates technical analysis, community input, and best practices in roadway safety and design.
The next step is to secure funding for preliminary design and environmental clearance which provides more details.

Project Overview
Freeport Blvd. from Sutterville Rd and Blair Ave is an important north-south corridor serving residents of south Sacramento. This 1.7 mile section of Freeport Blvd includes a variety of markets, restaurants, and shops, supported mostly by the nearby neighborhoods. It is a former State highway with 4-5 lanes that serves several schools, parks, and civic uses. The project goes include enhancing transportation safety, improving mobility, and supporting economic development.

Outreach Materials
The City will lead a comprehensive planning effort to identify community mobility values and needs. Based on community consultation throughout the project, technical analysis, and best practices in roadway safety and design, the plan will identify an implementable vision for the corridor.
