Transparency

Sacramento is quickly redefining itself as a leader in the next era of progressive cities. The City is driving forward a vision that is focused on: Innovation, Infrastructure, and Inclusion.

An open and transparent City government builds public trust and keeps residents better informed and engaged in government. Timely and relevant City data allows the public, community leaders, decision makers, and operational managers to make informed data-driven decisions. It improves accountability and understanding of City operations. With a click of a button, users can easily access City data to create reports and download information including crime reports, budget, building permit activity, and land-use data to name a few.

Open Records Center

The City of Sacramento has a public records portal that allows you to submit your request, correspond with the Records Unit, and track your requests online.

Effective 1/1/19 all requests for police records should be submitted directly to spdpra@pd.cityofsacramento.org. Please do not submit requests for police records on the public records portal. Contact the Police Department for any additional information regarding the process for obtaining police records or to follow up on the status of a request.

Open Data Platform

With a click of a button, citizens can now access meaningful city data on one webpage, create reports and download information including building permit activity, crime reports, budget information, and land-use data. This open data website, aimed to promote government transparency and openness, gives residents, visitors and businesses access to a growing number of datasets.

Encouraging public involvement

We want to ensure that all useful public City data can be easily found and used by citizens. We encourage residents and businesses to find innovative ways of using public data to engage with their local government.

Please let us know if there is something else you would like us to deliver. We want to hear from you!
