Rebates

The City of Sacramento Department of Utilities offers rebates to residential and commercial customers to help pay for water efficient upgrades to homes or businesses. Residential Rebates

River-Friendly Landscape Rebates: Replace your turf with native and drought tolerant plants and receive up to $1.00 per square foot of replaced turf (up to $1500).
Smart Controller and Irrigation Upgrades: Install a weather-based sprinkler controller (up to $400) and/or upgrade your irrigation for higher efficiency (up to $400).
High Efficiency Toilet Rebates : Replace your older PRE-1992 toilet with a new high efficiency toilet (1.28 gallons per flush or less) and receive up to $125 rebate. To qualify for this rebate an inspection is required BEFORE you remove your old toilet to verify the toilet removed qualifies.
High Efficiency Washing Machine Rebates: Purchase a Tier III High Efficiency Clothes Washer and receive up to $125 rebate. This rebate may be combined with rebates from manufacturers, SMUD or PG&E.

Business Rebates

Commercial Rebate Application; To obtain a rebate, customers must agree to a Pre-Installation Survey (Audit). This service is at no direct cost to the customer.

Includes:

Flushometer-style High Efficiency toilets or urinals - up to $250
Pre-rinse Spray Valves - up to $75
Air Cooled Ice Machines - up to $300
Cooling tower Controllers - up to $500
Connection-less Food Steamers - up to $200 per compartment
Dry Vacuum Pumps - $60 per 0.5 HP (up to 2)
Laminar Flow Restrictors - $5 each (10 minimum)

Customized Rebate Program Application
We also offer up to $50,000 ($.50 per 1000 gallons saved) for installing new, water-saving technologies and making process improvements that reduce water use or re-use water on site.
