Freeport Boulevard Sewer Replacement Project

Description
The project will remove and replace aging pipes called "combined sewer mains" that transport storm and waste water on Freeport Boulevard from 4th Avenue to Bidwell Way.
New piping will be installed that stores additional water when it rains and help prevent outflows, which happen when the combined sewer system has too much water during large storms.
City staff are taking steps to minimize impacts from the project.
During construction hours from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction and a City-hired contractor will maintain the flow of traffic for all properties and businesses in the area.
Cost and Funding
The estimated total project cost is $1,430,700 and is being funded with 2019 Wastewater Revenue Bonds.
Schedule
Construction began in July 2021 and is expected to last until winter 2022.
